Bennetts Cranes has erected a 60m luffing jib tower crane on the St Martin’s Place residential development in the heart of Birmingham.
The development is next to the Park Regis Hotel. Residents of the luxury residential apartments, when they are complete, will be able to benefit from all the amenities of the hotel including gym, pool, restaurants, spa, cinema, bars and concierge service.
The 228 apartments are being constructed by Colmore Tang Construction and are set to be a flagship residential development in the city. Bennetts erected a Saez SL 450 luffing jib tower crane on the site at the beginning of January, which will stay on site for approximately 60 weeks.
It has been erected free-standing at 60m with a 40m jib length. This is one of many new cranes within the Bennetts Cranes fleet suitable for working on tall buildings, and with a large load capacity.
A second Saez SL 450 will be erected in February with the same jib length, but at a height of 36m on the same site while the apartments are constructed.
This new Saez tower crane can lift up to 24 tonnes at maximum load, it is one of the biggest available in the Spanish brand’s fleet of luffers.
