At the end of every year there is always time to reflect on the year gone by and give thought to the year ahead.
For Bennetts Cranes 2018 really was a year to remember, a year filled to the brim with awards, publicity, world-firsts, charity events, sponsorship and our new company branding. We thought we’d round-up our highlights here in one place. With 2019 upon us, and still no idea of what Brexit will look like, nor what it will bring for our country and the construction industry, it’s hard to look too far ahead with any certainty.
What we do know is that our company re-brand and the work we have put into training our team and expanding our fleet of cranes has set us on a path of growth. We have a strong business going into uncertain times. We remain committed to our specialism and expertise in tower cranes, and delivering the very best service for our clients.
To all our staff, our suppliers and our clients, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Bennetts’ 2018 Highlights
At the beginning of the year we revealed our re-branded company look and our new website. After considerable work and investment, we completely re-branded the company with a new professional image, logo and website.
Every year the Financial Times publishes a comprehensive list of the fastest growing companies across Europe, in conjunction with Statista, based on financial performance over three years. This year Bennetts made it into the list, and only a month earlier we were listed in the Fast Growth 50 South West.
We took delivery of the first Raimondi LR330 luffing jib crane to be manufactured worldwide earlier this year, one of several we purchased along with the new LRH174, Raimondi’s first hydraulic luffer. These are now operating on sites in London.
That’s right, all the ladies in the Bennetts Cranes office teamed up in June to run the Race for Life for Cancer Research UK. The company match funded everything raised to help us reach a fundraising total of over £7,000.
In 2018 we sponsored the Construction News Awards for the first time, and it was a great honour to be a category sponsor for Project of the Year £15m and under. The winners were VolkerFitzpatrick, for the Stratford Retaining Wall project. We’ll be sponsoring the awards again in 2019.
We were delighted to win Growth Business of the Year at the Gloucestershire Business Awards 2018. This was the first time we had entered so it was an honour to win such a prestigious local award.
