Bennetts Cranes: Our 2019 highlights

With 2019 coming to a close, we’re looking back at what has been a busy and exciting year for Bennetts, with awards, new cranes, UK-firsts and some excellent British construction projects to have been involved in.

New cranes

2019 has been a year full of new cranes. In April we attended Bauma, the largest construction industry trade show in Europe, where we based ourselves at the Raimondi crane stand, as an exclusive agent. During the show we bought both the new LR273 and LRH174 on display. Throughout this year we have purchased several more of the LRH174, a hydraulic luffing jib crane, as well as the LR213 and more recently the new MRT159.

Also, this year we bought and erected the first two Saez SL450s in the UK – one of the largest luffing jib models in the Saez fleet. Both cranes were erected on the St Martin’s Place development in Birmingham, for Colmore Tang Construction. You can watch at video of them in operation here.

Awards

After winning Growth Business of the Year at the Gloucestershire Business Awards in 2018, in 2019 we were shortlisted for Equipment Specialist of the Year in the Construction Specialists Awards 2020 (we’ll find out if we win in March). We also sponsored the Construction News Awards for the second year running, as official sponsors of Project of the Year category.

Furthermore, we were delighted to once again be named in the London Stock Exchange Group’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain – a guide to businesses with high-levels of growth that are out-performing against their sector averages.

Construction projects

We’ve had the pleasure of working with many excellent construction companies on some varied projects around the UK in 2019 – from luxury apartments, to an emergency services centre. It’s been great to work locally in the Bristol area on two major projects. The first, a new Humanities Hub for the University of Bristol with ISG, and the second, 90 student apartments being built on the site of a former 19th century cinema.

We hope you’ve had a successful and enjoyable 2019. Thank you to all our clients and suppliers, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
