At Bennetts Cranes we like to set ourselves regular fundraising challenges, usually for our chosen charity Cancer Research UK.
In March, we embarked on the Cancer Research UK ‘Walk all over Cancer’ challenge, to complete 10,000 steps a day for the month of March.
We asked friends, family and colleagues to sponsor our efforts, and having finished the month, we can share that we have a raised a total of £1,840.
Five of us took part and completed the whole month: Edward Seager, Judith Barrett, Lucy Brazier, Tracey Pockett, and Zoe Pockett-Hughes.
Some team members surpassed the target of 310,000 steps by a long way. Judith clocked up an incredible 490,927 steps over the month and Lucy 459,666 steps. Lucy also clocked the most steps in one day, walking 27,730 steps – which is about 20km!
Tracey Pockett, Finance Director of Bennetts Cranes, said: “For several years we have come together as a team to participate in fundraising activities such as the Race for Life for Cancer Research – it’s a cause close to our hearts.
“With the walking challenge we thought this was achievable but also a good activity in terms of regular exercise and our overall health. It certainly helped us all develop good daily habits.
“We want to say a big thank you to everyone who donated and sponsored us for the challenge.”
