This varies depending on the tower crane configuration and site logistics, usually it takes 2 days to erect a tower crane.
We normally require at least 6-8 weeks notice to hire a tower crane, however road closures can take longer. Red routes and bus diversions usually need 12 weeks or more. Crane erection may be possible in a few weeks so call if you need an urgent installation.

We have an extensive modern fleet of luffing jib, saddle jib and remote-controlled cranes. Find out more information – https://www.tower-crane.co.uk/cranes/ As well as our 140 crane fleet we have cross hire agreements with major manufacturers so we can supply any tower cane model.
Luffing jib cranes tend to be better suited for residential sites or a construction site with limited space in dense urban areas. This is because of the ability to operate and park the jib at an angle to avoid oversailing boundaries. They enable several hooks to work close together which tends to be useful for high rise buildings.
Saddle jib cranes are cheaper to rent, have less expensive bases, use less power and can trolley in and out faster then a luffer can luff in and out. Saddle jibs are therefore the default selection unless there are space constraints or you need multiple hooks close together.
Remote-controlled cranes allow the crane to be operated from the ground by a single trained operator, who can drive and bank and possibly gives sites where the volume of materials used is low, carry out other jobs as well. Then the cost for a week can be similar to a mobile crane on a contract lift hired for a single day.
